Welcome to et voilà!

Oh my goodness, hi! I am so happy you are here!

The last time I sat down to write a blog post that was not for my corporate job was when I lived in France and documented my time there. How fitting that the name of my company was inspired by my long love of the language. Et voilà means “and there go you!”, as if to say “tada!” - a phrase I imagine myself saying every time I click “send” on an email to one of my clients, hoping they will love what’s inside.

Et voilà in some ways was born overnight, but in other ways was brewing for many years. A few years ago, when I was pregnant with our first daughter, I attended a workshop hosted by me and my husband’s wedding photographer. There were over a dozen of us, all young female entrepreneurs… well, except for me, who had no business of my own but wanted to start one someday. The group of us listened to inspirational speakers, did activities together, shared our wins and pain points, and just celebrated being creators. I walked away from those two days filled with life and excitement, more determined than ever to start my own… something?

The idea came to me this past August, when our second daughter was still a newborn. In the absolute trenches of 2 under 2, I would stay awake sometimes by escaping to my mind’s creative outlet - planning. Researching decor for our daughter’s second birthday party, scouring for end of summer sales, sending my sister dress options for a wedding she had coming up, helping my best friend virtually decorate her new apartment. You name the occasion, I have always loved searching for the perfect “thing”..

That feeling of finding what I am searching for, the physical realization of my imagination into something tangible, has always given me a rush. Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved turning seemingly ordinary moments into something extraordinary and documenting all kinds of occasions. It was in one of those postpartum moments of creative inspiration that I realized that maybe - just maybe - I could turn this joy of finding the right thing for the right moment into something that serves others. And that’s how et voilà began.

I am so excited to take this journey with you. I hope that, if nothing else, you leave me feeling more inspired than when you found me, and I hope that I can spark some joy and nostalgia in you. Thank you for your support and for being on this journey with me!

Love,
Amanda
